Fabric Covering

Responsibilities:

• Performs basic stripping operations of fabric from aircraft surfaces to prepare for restoration and recovering
• Performs covering on newly manufactured aircraft
• Work with cloth, fabrics, glues, and solvents to refurbish aircraft covering to high quality levels
• Patterns, cuts, sews, cements, and trims fabrics for fuselage, wings, headliners, side panels, and interior.
• Assists in covering flight control surfaces
• Perform routine and complex sewing operations
• Documents all work accomplished in a clear, concise, and accurate manner
• Works with a team in order to complete established goals

Qualifications:

• Willingness to work on a team with both experienced technicians and mentor junior technicians with a calm demeanor
• Ability to communicate well in straightforward situations
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Excellent workmanship aptitude and a desire to initiate improvements

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Sewing and pattern-making experience preferred
